Sound Healing - link

Sound healing is a form of healing that uses different vibrations to heal the body, mind and spirit. It works on two principles: That different emotions vibrate at different levels, and that blocked, or unexpressed emotions, are the main source of dis-ease.

The vibrations of emotions

We all learned in our elementary science classes that everything is made of atoms. Quantum physicists discovered that atoms are made of subatomic particles, which continually vibrate at certain frequencies. In fact, at the quantum level, what we think of as a quantum particle is really that particle’s vibration. Physics carried this to its logical conclusion and found that the entire universe is just a consequence of many infinitely large fields vibrating.

Objects aren’t the only things that vibrate. It has been proven that our thoughts and feelings produce energy, which trigger vibrations. Everything vibrates at a different level, including feelings.  Emotions that we consider uncomfortable, or unpleasant, vibrate at relatively low levels. Emotions that most people find pleasant and joyful vibrate at higher levels.

The source of dis-ease

For most people, it is easy to express positive emotions like happiness and joy. However, many people don’t want to feel negative emotions, so they stuff them inside. If this is done over years, the lowly vibrating trapped emotions stagnate in the body and cause disease.

How does sound healing work, on the energetic level?

As you probably also recall from your basic science classes, human bodies are 75% water, which is a great conductor for vibrations. Sound healers use instruments, such as Tibetan bowls, crystal bowls, glasses, gongs and even tuning forks, that vibrate at specific frequencies when struck. These vibrations correspond to specific emotions.

Many people don’t want to feel sadness or grief, so they close their heart chakras rather than allowing themselves to feel these uncomfortable emotions. When the sound practitioner strikes this bowl, they release the healing vibration of the heart chakra into the body of the person being healed. This opens the heart chakra, allowing it to release the trapped negative emotions.

Breath Work - link

Breathwork helps put the brakes on an acute stress response and diverts the health problems associated with chronic stress. By eliciting the body's relaxation response, deep abdominal breathing helps reduce blood pressure.

Your breath brings oxygen into your body so that you can thrive. When you are physically or emotionally stressed, it affects how you breathe. Breathwork helps to calm your stress and bring balance to your body. So, how does it work, and what are breathwork techniques?

Understanding Breathwork

Breathwork is trendy right now, but it’s not new. People have been practicing breathwork for thousands of years, and it has roots in yoga practice. The basic idea of breathwork is to release toxins and stress when you breathe out and nourish your mind and body when you breathe in.

Benefits of breathwork. Research on breathwork is promising. Potential health benefits of breathwork include:

  • Alkalizing your blood PH

  • Anti-inflammatory effect

  • Elevating your mood

‌Breathwork may also have a positive impact on your central nervous system. When you feel stressed, your breath tends to become fast and shallow. This limits the oxygen entering your bloodstream. Your brain tells your body that there is a threat, and your body responds in fight or flight.

Mini Experiences

Each month we will add activities to build your CALM habits and meet others in the CALM community. Retreats

Members of the CALM community are invited to join us as we visit the sacred lands of Arizona. Find out about joining the CALM Community!

  • Sedona's world-wide reputation as a spiritual mecca and global power spot has drawn some of our planet's most amazing healers, intuitives, artists and spiritual guides. Enjoy Mother Nature's red-rock temples to experience their life-transforming vortexes

A vortex is a special spot on the earth where energy is either entering the earth or projecting out of the earth's plane. Vortexes (or vortices) are found at sacred sites throughout the world – the Great Pyramid in Egypt, Machu Picchu in Peru, Bali, Stonehenge, Uluru/Ayers Rock in Australia, etc.

  • Tucson is a spacial place for deep healing. Long before the Spanish settlers came to Arizona in the 1600's, the Paleo-Indians and the tribe known as Hohokam were once the main settlers. Comprised of native and religious sites, Tucson is a place to revitalize the spirit and shake up the soul.
